About Me

Hi, I’m Rach, mid 30’s Scouser, living and working in the Sefton area. I am a born and breed Evertonian, a daughter and sister; a colleague and a friend.

I am Gay; and my choice of gender expression, would be fair to say is fairly far towards masculine, some people describe me as butch, boi, diesel dyke, but personally I describe me as just that, me, hence the blog title, Just Me, it’s how I’m comfortable that matters, not anyone else’s opinion.

I am one of ‘those gays’ who is out, and proud, speaking up for equality and diversity for all, I am active in my community, the co-chair of the local LGB network group, holding regular meetings with local policy makers, social events, and an online community via Facebook and Twitter.

I am also involved with the Trans* and Intersex Network group and the Trans* Family Support Group, partly because I believe the T in LGB&T isn’t silent and deserves the support from the more high profile letters in the community in order that one day we can say we were truly an equal society and more so because some of the people from the Trans* community I consider to be my friends if not more like family. Because of my activism in Trans* issues, people have in the past questioned my gender identity, let me make it clear now, I am not Trans*, I am a woman both inside and out; please don’t confuse my Gender Expression with Gender Identity, I know exactly who I am and I’m 100% ok with it.
